Meet Stephen Beckta, current Board Chair

“I am honoured to be taking on the role as Chair of the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa. It’s a remarkable organization that contributes so much to the diverse communities that it serves. Having been a member myself when I was a kid looking for somewhere to belong, I know the power of a special place with caring people who truly want to see you succeed. Under Graham and Colleen’s leadership, the BGCO has grown from a recreationally-focused organization that offered kids a place to have fun after school and stay out of trouble, to one of the most profound vessels for delivering positive social change in our region. Kids who visit the club today are given the mentorship and tools they need to succeed socially, academically and physically in their most formative years. I’m thrilled that I get the chance to give back to that family that did so much for me when I needed a place to belong, believe and achieve."
