Homework Club

Homework Club is a key component of programming at all seven Clubhouse locations and for all ages. Each Homework Club session includes a healthy snack and focused homework time where youth can access technology and get help from tutors and staff. The Homework Club delivers creative solutions to the challenges faced by many local communities, including working with community partners to overcome language barriers, and increasing literacy through innovative techniques and collaborative partnerships (i.e. Public Library).

A key component of the Homework Club is the Healthy Snacks program. We know how difficult it is to concentrate in school when you’re hungry, so every day the Club provides a healthy snack which gives members the fuel they need to succeed. For many of our members this is the only meal they get all day.

With food in their bellies and a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, Homework Club gives students the resources, confidence and training to help them succeed in school and beyond.

What Members are saying about Homework Club:

I participate in Homework Club because there is no one to really help me at home.

I always do my homework on my own, but when I came to the Homework Club, I got the help that I need and that makes me comfortable with my studies.

The Homework Club helps me concentrate in school and on homework.
